How to Unsubscribe or Block Unwanted Telemarketing Calls and SMS

Now we can Unsubscribe from all Unwanted Call and SMS's in India. This service is launched in India by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) which works for interest of people have Implemented a strict rule of DND (Do Not Disturb). In India mobile users get daily numbers of Unwanted calls from different telemarketing service providers such Insurance companies, Holiday Packages sellers etc without ever disclosing our number to them and even after requesting them not to call they still keep doing the same thing.

From 27-September-2011 TRAI has implemented a very strict rule that if a telemarketing company keeps calling a mobile user after unsubscribing to a call then they will be charged fines ranging from Rs 25,000 to 2,50,000 and if the company repeats the mistake for 6th time then the telemarketer CONNECTION will be terminated and blacklisted for 2 years.

How to Unsubscribe from Unwanted Telemarketing calls and SMS?
1. Call 1909 which is National telecom service number.
2. Select language
3. Then select the 1st option i.e Unsubscribe from call
4. Now it will ask you if you want to Fully Unsubscribe or Partially Unsubscribe to telemarketing Calls. In Fully Unsubscribe you will not get any call from any telemarketing service provider and in Partially you can Subscribe to the Interested sector from which you want to receive calls E.g Educational, Real estate etc after Subscribing or Unsubscribing call your will be given Register Number not that number.

What to do I an still Receiving Unwanted Telemarketing Calls and SMS?
Call 1909 and lodge a complaint by talking to customer care Executive and your issue will be solves and necessary action will be taken against TeleMarketer.

How Blocking of Calls and SMS will work?
Every telemarketing company number will begin with '140' and the company will be put in a particular category when you unsubscribe from that particular or full blocking of call that company will be given notification not to call your number.
